What Are Tailwind Tribes and How Can they Skyrocket Blog Traffic?

I’ve put off joining Tailwind Tribes for a while because I truly wanted to give my full attention to them, understanding them, etc. And, I think they are brilliant!

I’ve tried to set up groups for Instagram sharing, but they always fail. No one wants to join or people just simply don’t understand how they work. Pinterest has always been my tried and true. My way to skyrocket my blog traffic. Therefore, I couldn’t pass up the latest trend to help boost my posts while I’m away from the office.

Yes, Tailwind Tribes are pretty awesome, but do you understand them? Let’s break it down!

  • A Tailwind Tribe is simply a group of Pinterest users that come together with one shared goal.
  • The Tribe itself is niched, just like a group board. So if you’re a social media expert you may be interested in a Tailwind Tribe that shares pins about that topic.
  • Then, each of you are agreeing to boost each other’s blog posts by sharing their pins that are showcased in the Tribe. It’s like a pool of cool kids that want to share your posts in exchange for sharing theirs.

Does that make sense?

What Exactly is Tailwind?

But let’s back up! What the heck is Tailwind?

If you have been sitting under rock (no judgement) then you are missing out on the idea of scheduling your pins. You can read about it here and how Pinterest helped me triple my blog’s traffic.

Tailwind allows you to schedule pins that strategically post throughout the day at the best times according to your followers. Honestly, you can’t do that manually without being on Pinterest 24/7.

In the past I was using Boardbooster but I no longer do because Tailwind serves my needs and I can semi loop pins pretty easily with it.

Try Tailwind for Free!

You can try Tailwind for Free – This link is my affiliate link so I will get a cut if you end up signing up with Tailwind. But I only share products and services that rock my socks. In fact, I ditched a lot of my paid apps but this was one thing I could NOT get rid of because I can’t live without it. With the majority of my blog’s traffic coming from Pinterest it’s a no-brainer to keep it.

What Should I Join a Tailwind Tribe?

If you’re a blogger, you have probably read that Pinterest is a huge driver of traffic to blogs.

Having other Pinners sharing your content to their audience is the best way to get more exposure. And, unlike Group Boards which are harder to monitor, a Tailwind Tribe admin can monitor pins much easier and manage members. So your content is more rich here and more relevant. This in turn means more repins. Repins means more traffic to your blog.

It’s a win-win for you!

Join My Tailwind Tribes and Skyrocket Blog Traffic

Finding Tailwind Tribes isn’t easy. There are blog posts out there with lists of tribes you can join. And, I’ve found a couple that I really like. The goal isn’t to join every one out there, just like group boards you MUST participate for them to work. Tailwind Tribes are in Alpha, so you may find they need some work or changes will occur. But getting in now is the best time!

For myself, I have several interests with this blog, and Holly Pixels. Therefore, I wanted to create Tailwind Tribes that would help me make it easier to find content that my followers would enjoy seeing.

And, I’d like to invite you to them! These are public for now. As long as you stay on topic and follow the rules of each Tribe you’re golden. Eventually these Tribes may close as they grow. But for now, as they are new, we all have to dedicate and come together to help each other out from the ground up…I’m all about supporting you!

Rock Your Blog

I created this Tribe for followers of Holly McCaig so that you can share any advice blog posts as it pertains to blogging and growth. As with all of my tribes, for each pin you share of your own content you need to look through the group and share 2X pins. So share a post, find two other posts from your colleagues to share. It’s all about growth and helping each other. Click the Tribe title to join.

Stock Photography & Mockups

This Tribe is to showcase amazing styled stock photos and posts as it relates to using them. Mockups are great here too. Good visuals help bloggers. Please note that any affiliate links must be disclosed in the descriptions of your pins! As with all of my tribes, for each pin you share of your own content you need to look through the group and share 2X pins. So share a post, find two other posts from your colleagues to share. It’s all about growth and helping each other. Click the Tribe title to join.

How Do I Use the Tribes?

Once click the link to join a tribe (whether one of my mine or an invitation in an email you get from a friend), if it’s public you’ll see the dashboard like this. If you have to be approved, it may look slightly different (or empty).
